In the face of the climate crisis, slowing carbon emissions won’t be enough. Two technologies that are reversing the damage by removing harmful greenhouse gases are helping to move the planet forward. Dr. Klaus Lackner, Director of Arizona State University’s Center for Negative Carbon Emissions, presents the model of a mechanical tree that can remove from the air a thousand times more carbon dioxide than a natural tree would.  Clarice Knelly, a student correspondent from SUNY Plattsburgh, shows us the sustainability power of a Montreal landfill turned luminescent landscape. The quarry-turned-greenspace is dotted with glow-in-the-dark spheres that collect methane emissions from the earth that are then turned into sustainable energy.
